SILLY SARA
SILLY SARA
Silly
Sara said so long.. She was sailing on
the sea to see an alligator. The gator's
name was Sammy. He sat on a small strip
of sand at the edge of an island.
Sara
sailed her tiny ship to see Sammy the gator.
The sun was bright and shining.
The sea air was salty and splashed warm water in Sara's hair. It stuck to her silly head.
"Sammy,"
said Sara. "Why are you sitting in
the sand?"
"Silly
Sara," said Sammy, blinking his sad alligator eyes. "I'm not sitting, I'm sunning."
"Super!"
said Sara. "Can I sun too?"
"Sure,"
smiled Sammy. "But put on some
sunblock first."
Sara
slathered sunblock on her skin and sat in the sand sunning with Sammy.
"Should
we build sand castles?" asked Sammy.
"That
sounds like fun," said Sara.
So
Sara and Sammy shoveled sand in a pile.
The stacked the walls high. The
set the turrets straight. When they were
done, Sammy and Sara sat back to admire their work.
"The
shining sun is making me sweat," said Sara.
"Don't
suffer," said Sammy. "I have a
solution.
He
slithered on the sand to the surf and slid into the cool water.
"Come
on Sara," said Sammy.
She swam out to him, but started to sink like a
stone.
"I
can't swim," said Sara, spitting water out of her mouth.
"Sit
on me," said Sammy.
Sara
sat on Sammy's back. He rode the surf
back to the sand.
"What
should we do now?" asked Sara.
Sammy
smiled with sharp, shiny teeth.
"I'll
tell you a secret, silly Sara," said Sammy. "I've never been sailing."
"Do
you want to sail on my ship?" Sara asked.
"Sold,"
said Sammy.
So
Sara and Sammy went sailing on the serene sea under the shiny silent sun.
