If you count the first cases on March 1, we’re headed to a top of the wave around April 15 and watching this peter out by the end of May. Social distancing is going to help in the US. And parts of the US are going to shut down. Including your town. In Little Rock, the mayor just announced a curfew. Nobody is allowed out from midnight to 5 am. There are a few exceptions for work, but the idea is to limit social gatherings at restaurants, bars, etc. I think the Gov will announce a lock down by the end of this week or the middle of next. Earlier this week: The governor of California declared a State of Emergency which gave the states a lot of leeway in seizing and using private property to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. The news reported that it was being used for hotel rooms, for now. But the law allows the government broad powers in relation to curtailing rights. Fast forward twenty four hours, and the President made a ten minute address to the nation in which he stated they are looking at all options, including a National State of Emergency. Today he announced it. A National State of Emergency with broad powers to "combat the spread and mitigate the impact of the Coronavirus." He urged hospitals to employ their emergency preparedness plans. This means getting staff in place, how to schedule staff, suspension of labor laws, reverse triage.
