If you can't trust the news, who can you?

If you can’t trust the news, who can you trust?

No one.

Not even yourself.

The news lies to you. Every single day.

Weathermen forecast.

Which means they tell you what they think is going to happen, not what is going to happen.

They model. They predict. They make it up.

Sometimes they’re right.  So we believe them.

Until they’re not, then we joke about them.

Newscasters are the same way.

Take the recent college admissions scandal.

This is not news. It’s something that only affects less than 10,000 kids in North America.  Probably a lot less than that.

The news is using Felicity Huffman and Lori Louglin as the faces of this scandal. Two moms who happen to be well known actresses who paid a fee to get their kids into a good college.

The news is not showing you the sixty other “normal” people who did the same thing.

Because the news has one agenda.

To get you to watch.  The more you watch, the more money they make.

If you don’t watch, they don’t make money.

And let’s face it, no one cares about normal people who play the system.

I wouldn’t watch for joe blow getting busted for paying money to a college.

That’s not even news.

That’s a fact and a way of life.

Don’t believe me?

What’s the name on the stadium outside your local college?  Who has a name on the library?  Who has their name on the side of the schools within the University?

Paying to get your kid into college is as old as the college system itself.

But the NEWS won’t tell you that.  It’s boring and you don’t care.

Two actresses who pay to get their kids in school?  That’s NEWS! You’ll pay attention to that Scandal!

Joe Blow? Pfft. Who cares what he does.

Especially since this particular issue is confined to a private school in Southern California that admits a couple thousand kids in their freshman class.

But you may argue those “privileged” children take the place of people who are more deserving.

Says who?

The news? You?
